For those of you that may have heard about the arson that happened in Ishpeming and are wanting to donate to help get Santa's house rebuilt- see this post for more information.

At this time of year we know there are people out there struggling to find clothes for their kids to head back to school. If you are in need please go to the Care Closet FB page and either direct message, contact via the phone number or email on their "about " section. Typically open for browsing on the FIRST and THIRD Saturdays each month from 10am-12noon, however if you cannot wait until then, please reach out and contact them directly! They can work something out. Gently used & new clothing for infant-teenager.

Firefighter's Appreciation BBQ/Picnic was a success! Thank you to all who helped us put this on for the firefighters and their families last night! Thank you to everyone who attended, and may God keep our Firefighters safe as they sacrifice so much to keep our communities safe. Special Thanks to: Susan Burke Hill for all of the photos and one that came in from Jacki Crimmins Wesley Missions Chair, Chad Hintsala, Tyler Hintsala & Dave Crimmins for being the Grillmasters, and the Wesley Missions team and our Wesley family for all of their efforts!

Wesley Friends- this is coming up THIS WEEK on Thursday! We are throwing a Firefighter Appreciation BBQ for Ishpeming City, Ishpeming Twp and Humboldt Twp firefighters to celebrate them. They sacrifice their lives and time to keep our communities safe. Please come and thank our firefighters! 6:30 p.m. Thursday 8/22 at the Ishpeming Twp. Park next to the Ishpeming Township Hall.

4:30 pm on Wed. 8/7/19 has arrived. Our office will be closed starting now until our Admin. returns to work from vacation on Friday 8/16. If you have an emergency, see the attached contact information. Have a great week!

ATTENTION: DEADLINE CHANGE! If you were planning to bring school supplies and backpacks to Wesley for the Salvation Army, please NOTE! Liz Nevala from the Ishpeming Salvation Army just called. They are having their event on Wed 8/21, however they need us to turn in our box THIS COMING MONDAY, not 8/19 as I originally thought. So, if you still wish to donate supplies and backpacks (P.S. she said they are heavily in need of girls backpacks) please get them to Wesley by 12noon on Sunday 8/11/19 (This Sunday). They will be coming to collect the box on Monday 8/12/19 instead. Thanks, sorry for any confusion.

Go to Walmart TOMORROW AUG 3. and help stuff the bus for local kids! If you can't make that event, know that we at Wesley are taking backpacks/school supplies in a bin that the Salvation Army has provided us to help as well. All donations need to be in to Wesley by the end of our Combined Worship Service Sunday Funday on August 18th. The Salvation Army will get the bin from us on Monday and they will be handing out bags to the kids on Wed. 8/21.

While Wesley is helping the Salvation Army with school supplies/backpacks by putting out a donation bin in our entry, we encourage everyone to help with this as well! There are a number of places doing Backpacks/supplies for local kids in need however this particular fundraiser is is HUGE because this is to raise funds to send home FOOD with the kids that need it! Hematite Power Packs & Patriot Packs have been caring for the kids in the schools that need this food and they need additional help! We encourage everyone to help out in some way- whether it is to donate money, school supplies, food, go to this fundraiser, etc. Back to school can be hard on those who don't have a lot of extra funds to spare-and worrying about where their next meal is coming from is incredibly stressful!

I wanted to share this- The Room at the Inn has been looking for donations, and this happened pretty recently. They said that 12 out of 19 of their people volunteered to help keep window washer Phil Niemisto's memory alive and they helped out washing windows downtown Marquette. Their efforts were greatly appreciated. Share the love! If you can donate to The Room at the Inn Warming Center, please do! They can use cash donations, and gift cards for stores like Gordon Food Service, Walmart, Meijer, Target, Etc. so that they can continue to keep their warming center stocked with the items they need to help the homeless of the area. http://roomattheinn.org/index.php/donate/
